Jasper Johns

Skewed Visions presented Jasper Johns, a study in performance triggered by the works of the landmark American painter. Our blog includes some notes on process.

Created for the picture-like frame of the Ritz Theater proscenium stage, Skewed Visions explored surveillance, national identity and representation with three performances inspired by paintings that change how we look at art.

This activity was made possible in part by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as support from generous individuals.

Islands of Chekhov

Skewed Visions took part in the inaugural Twin Cities Chekhov Festival at the Bryant-Lake Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Charles Campbell presented Islands of Chekhov, an original work placing Chekhov's work and death from tuberculosis against the upsurge of the coming 1905 Russian Revolution and its subsequent bloody repression -- all within the confines of the Bryant-Lake Bowl.

The site-specific blog offers a glimpse into the development process.

Visits With Woyzeck

Skewed Visions made an appearance at "Toy Theatre After Dark" at Open Eye Figure Theatre, Feb 28 - March 3 with "Visits With Woyzeck" a object-theater work inspired by Buchner's unfinished masterpiece, "Woyzeck."
