3-Play is a new series in which Skewed Visions invites three artists making exciting work to each create original short work for the Skewed Visions studio. For the first 3-Play (January 19, 2014) we asked Blake Bolan, the pair Emily Gastineau and Billy Mullaney (now Fire Drill), and Ted Moore.
by Ted Moore
eclipse is a new work for tenor saxophone (played by Kyle Hutchins), live processing, and video/projection that explores the combination of live improvisation, generated soundscapes, and audio-controlled visuals.
We Are Where
by Blake Bolan
We are where our minds take us. Where we are is where the inner and outer, stillness and void, presence and absence are.
We are in this body. We are beside bodies we will never know. Sharing secrets that no one else can hear.
Missing questions. We know the answers. We know the body of the answer.
Speaking to someone who isn’t here. Being spoken to by someone who isn’t here.
We are where we want to be. We are where we do not want to be.
We are here, in this room. We are in these bodies. We are missing bodies. We are beside bodies we will never know.
We are right now,
I am right here,
